2. In short

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you visit the site, the web server processes technically necessary data such as IP address, date and time, requested page or file, referrer URL, browser, operating system and HTTP status code (server log files) to deliver the website and keep it stable and secure. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Retention follows the host’s settings. IONOS acts as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR.

4. Contact form, meeting requests and call-back requests

When you use these forms, I process the details you enter: name, email address, phone number (for call-backs or phone meetings), company (optional), topic, message and, for meeting requests, preferred date, length and format. The data is validated on the server and sent to me by email (meeting requests include a calendar file). It is not stored in a database. Purpose: handling your request. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Data is kept until your request has been handled, unless statutory retention obligations apply. A selected time slot is a request; a meeting is only agreed once I confirm it.

5. Spam and abuse protection

The forms use a hidden field, a completion-time check, an origin check and a limit of a few requests per hour. For this limit, an irreversible hash derived from your IP address is stored with timestamps on the server for no more than 24 hours; the IP address itself is not stored. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

6. Podcasts

Episode lists are fetched by this server from the podcast host RSS.com; no visitor data is transmitted. Only when you play an episode does your browser load the audio directly from RSS.com servers (content.rss.com), transmitting in particular your IP address. Processing outside the EU cannot be ruled out. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR – playback happens only at your request.

7. External links

The site links to external services such as LinkedIn, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, RSS.com and official sources. Data is only transmitted to them once you click a link; their privacy policies then apply.

8. Local browser storage

When you switch languages, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site opens in your language next time. It never leaves your device and can be deleted in your browser settings.

9. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15–18, 20, 21 GDPR), and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, e.g. the data protection authority of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW).
